Hatha Yoga is one of the meditation system introduced by yogi Swathmarama. This is the yoga practiced to realize with union of pairs of opposites. Hatha yoga is one of the traditions of tantra yoga. 'Ha' means sun and 'tha' means moon which are opposites.
In Hatha yoga the practice of pranayama is very essential which energies 'nadis'. Pranayama is one kind of breathing exercise practiced in most of the yogas. Asanas are the next and equally essential to be practiced in Hatha yoga. Asanas are physical exercises practiced to keep the physical body in control to retain a position for a long period for meditating.
